PERFECTION: He is the Image of the Invisible God ~ Colossians 1:15-20

Preeminent LORD Jesus Christ, what glory, wonder, awe, joy and radiance you display.  You are worthy of all worship and adoration.  All the nations, indeed, all creation speaks of your power, wisdom and presence.  Thank you.  Thank you for granting us eyes to see and ears to hear that we might know you, our Author, Sustainer and Ruler.  Lord, we confess our attempts to live our lives as if we order them, as if we sustain them, as if we want the preeminence which you alone deserve.  Lord, we have all suppressed the truth of Christ superiority that we might be exalted.  Claiming to be wise we have become fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and created things.  We are without excuse.  O Lord, will you by the power of your Spirit this morning awaken us to your grandeur.   Stir our affections that we might see & know your glory this morning.  Would you enlarge our hearts that we might cast aside all the worthless aims and ambitions so diligently pursued by our own efforts and turn us to see and savor the joy that can be found in Jesus Christ our LORD.  The only One who is the image of the invisible God.  The only One in whom all the fullness of God is pleased to dwell.  O that you would grant us to know and enjoy this truth this morning, O LORD.  Help us we pray.   Amen & Amen.
